Weighing in at 13.4 once virtually unnoticeable, Swiftwater fits into tight spaces, so it’s easy to fit into a backpack pocket or hunting vest. The 2.5-layer outer fabric is made with sturdy yet lightweight 3.7 oz. nylon with a waterproof membrane laminated inside. The half layer is a mesh grid printed inside that protects the membrane from abrasion and wear. Every seam of the Swiftwater is sealed to provide weatherproof protection. During active and high-effort use, breathability is just as important as waterproofing, as wet is wet, no matter where the moisture is coming from. Swiftwater’s waterproof membrane is full of microscopic pores which leads to the escape of steam and heat, but is impenetrable to rain and snow.

For further assurance that the water stays on the outside, Filson used YKK® water resistant AquaGuard® zippers, the front with an internal rain flap and a small zipper compartment to prevent pinching the neck. Built for comfort and convenience, the Swiftwater has plenty of room to add layers underneath in freezing weather and boasts a two-way drawcord adjustable hood to fully seal wind and water. Adjustable velcro cuffs offer customization on bare wrists or heavy gloves. For easy storage, Swiftwater is so compact that it can be stowed away in one of its zippered pockets or rolled up quickly in its hood.
