Red Wing Shoes: 8181 6-inch Round Toe Boots
In 1919, when Red Wing first introduced the 6-inch Round toe model it was addressed mainly to farmers. Durable and well-designed, it combined the comfort of an oxford shoe (a low shoe laced over the instep) with the strength of a work boot, all while featuring a simpler, stitch-saving round design on the vamps. Throughout the decades the model gained a wider and more organic range of customers.
Famous for its clean lines, simple construction and classic round toe styling, the 8181 features Hawthorne Muleskinner leather, white Traction Tred rubber outsole, speed hooks for easier lacing, triple stitched quality and Goodyear welt construction. The rough surface of the leather is created using a reverse-suede technique, which nowadays is a very rare procedure shoemaking companies carry out. By using the reverse side of the hide, the leather will not split or wear out too soon.
This Round Toe Model features Red Wing’s excellence: sturdy soles, premium leathers, triple stitching and Goodyear welt construction, making quality boots that will last a lifetime.
